Under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah The Second, King of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the 2001 International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT’2001) was held at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan. ACIT'2001 is a refereed scientific conference that will act as a forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their latest research, results, ideas, developments, and applications in all areas of information technology.

The conference  included presentations to contributed papers and state-of-the-art lecture by an invited keynote speaker. A panel session on current issues related to information technology in Jordan and Arab countries was organized. This conference is considered the official scientific conference for the Colleges of Computer and Information Society, stemming from the Association of Arab Universities.
