Under the patronage of His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Minister for Energy and Industry, Qatar, the 2002 International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT'2002) was held at University of Qatar, Qatar.

The conference included presentations to 150 contributed papers distributed among 35 different Arab and foreign countries, and five state-of-the-art lectures by distinguished keynote speakers in the area of information technology. ACIT'2002 is a refereed scientific conference that act as a forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their latest research, results, ideas, developments, and applications in all areas of information technology. This conference is considered the official scientific conference for the Colleges of Computer and Information Society, stemming from the Association of Arab Universities.
