Under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Basem Rousan / Minister of Information and Communications Technology and the attendance of Dr. Suhair Al Khateeb / Secretary General of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, the 2006 International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT'2006) was held at Al-Yarmouk University, Jordan.

The conference included presentations to 58 contributed papers distributed among 22 different Arab and foreign countries, and two state-of-the-art lectures by distinguished Keynote Speakers in the area of information technology. ACIT' 2006 is a refereed scientific conference that act as a forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their latest research, results, ideas, developments, and applications in all areas of information technology. This conference is considered the official scientific conference for the Colleges of Computer and Information Society, stemming from the Association of Arab Universities. The permanent base of the General Secretariat of ACIT is hosted by Zarqa Private University, Jordan.
